SJU PLACES 15th AT URI SPRING INVITATIONAL
PORTSMOUTH, RI (04/27/02) – Playing without three of its top performers in its final event of the year, the Saint Joseph's University golf team placed 15th in the 18 team field at the Rhode Island Spring Invitational played at Green Valley Country Club. Junior Mike Bosica was SJU's top finisher, tying for 24th place overall with a two-day total of 159 (78, 81).
Following behind Bosica were a trio of sophomores led by Brian McDermott, who finished tied for 52nd with a score of 85, 80 - 165. Fellow sophomores Bill Devlin (82, 85 - 167) and Ryan MacDonald (82, 87 - 169) tied for 64th and 69th place, respectively.
Senior C.J. O'Connell (86, 85 - 171) tied for 76th in his final collegiate event to round out SJU's five-man contingent.
Juniors Paul Polinsky and Jeff Huntzinger and senior J.P. Glynn did not travel with the Hawks, whose season is now complete
