PHILADELPHIA (04/15/01) – SJU junior Paul Polinsky has been named the Atlantic 10 Player of the Week in men's golf for the week ending on Sunday, April 14. Polinsky became the first Hawk golfer since 1997 to win an individual golf tournament, taking top honors at the Lafayette Invitational played at the Architects Club in Lopatcong, N.J. over the weekend. The only player in the tournament to finish below par, Polinsky shot a 72 on day one and a 69 on day two for a total of 141 (-1). His play helped the hard-charging Hawks pick up eleven strokes on the second day of competition, as SJU (302, 291 - 593) finished second overall in the team competition, just three strokes off the pace.
