MCDERMOTT HONORED AS A-10 ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
PHILADELPHIA (04/09/01) - For the second
straight week, SJU freshman Brian McDermott
has been honored as the Atlantic 10
Conference's Rookie of the Week in Men's golf.
McDermott was SJU's top finisher at both the
George Washington and Navy Invitationals. He
placed fifth overall at G.W., shooting a 153 and
then tied for 31st place at Navy with a score of
155. His opening round score of 73 at both
events matches the Hawks' season low round.
He is the younger brother of former Hawk standouts Kevin and Michael
McDermott.
