Golf in Seventh Place after First Round of 2007 Atlantic 10 Championships
May 4, 2007 WINTER GARDEN, FL - The Saint Joseph's University golf team currently sits in seventh place after the first round of the 2007 Atlantic 10 Men's Golf Championships. Senior Phil Arouca led the Hawk contingent, shooting a two-under par 70, placing him in a tie for seventh. The defending champion Charlotte 49ers lead the event, being held at the Orange County National Golf Center's Panther Lake Course, after shooting a collective 13-under par 275 and are four strokes ahead of second-place Xavier. SJU's mark of 299 puts them 24 shots off the pace. Charlotte senior Matt Mincer tied the conference's 18-hole Championship record by shooting an eight-under par 64 to take the individual lead. Behind Arouca, senior Chris Reedman carded a 73 to tie him for 15th place. Sophomore Steve Hudacek is four strokes behind Reedman in a 33rd-place tie. Rounding out the SJU quintet are junior Colin Corrigan and senior Ryan McCarty. Corrigan sits tied for 46th with a seven-over 79, while McCarty shot an 83, placing him in a tie for 57th place.
