Bea Ties for First at Old Dominion/Seascape Golf Invitational

Oct. 28, 2008

Saint Joseph's freshman golfer tied for first place Jimmy Bea, while the Hawks, as a team, finished 15th at the Old Dominion/Seascape Invitational.

Carding a two-round score of 68-72/140, Bea finished tied for the overall lead with Liberty's Tobias Pettersson for first place. However, the tournament officials awarded the medalist honor to Pettersson, as Saint Joseph's had to leave the event at its conclusion and Bea was not present for a playoff.

As a team, the Hawks carded a two-round score of 311-329/640 to finish 15th. Host Old Dominion won the team title with a score of 579.

Individually, sophomore Jim Ridgway finished second on SJU with a score of 77-87/164, while freshman Andrew Jaskel shot 81-85/166 in his first collegiate competition. Rounding out the five-man squad were junior Zach Smith with a score of 177, while classmate Bill Macknis withdrew.

This week's tournament marked the final tournament of the fall schedule for Saint Joseph's.
