Men's Golf Places Eighth At Georgetown Hoya Invitational

LEESBURG, VA - The Saint Joseph's University men's golf team completed the fall portion of its schedule Monday, placing eighth at the Georgetown Hoya Invitational. The Hawks posted a two-round score of 596 at the par 72, 6,851 yard Lansdowne Resort.

Saint Joseph's, which entered today's final round in eighth, posted a nine-over-par 297 today, finishing in eighth with a two-round total of 299-297/596. Eastern Michigan won the team title, posting a seven-under-par 569.

Individually, junior Billy Stewart posted a two-over-par 74 in today's final round, to finish in a tie for 12th place with a score of 72-74/146. Eastern Michigan's Korey Mahoney won medalist honors with a two-round six-under-par 138.

Hawks' junior Sean Seese finished in a tie for 18th with a score of 75-72/147. Freshman Colin Corrigan posted a score of 76-75/151, while classmate Ryan Barnett posted a 77-76/153. Freshman Garrett Basalyaga rounded out the five-man team with a total of 76-80-156.

For the season, Stewart led the Hawks with a 72.5 strokes-per-round average and finished in the top-10 four times. Seese finished second on the team in average, with a 73.4 strokes-per-round pace, and added three top-10 finishes. Corrigan led all newcomers with a 75.5 strokes-per-round average and one top-10 finish.
