Saint Joseph's Golfers Eighth After Opening Round of Georgetown Hoya Invitational

LEESBURG, VA - The Saint Joseph's men's golf team stands in eighth place after shooting an opening round 299 at the Georgetown Hoya Invitational Sunday afternoon at the Lansdowne Resort (par 72).

The Hawks posted an 11-over par 299 and trail leader Eastern Michigan by 14 strokes. Ohio University stands in second at 289 and Richmond is third at 292.

Individually, junior Billy Stewart is tied for 11th after posting an even-par 72. Blake Russell of Ohio University leads the 65-person field after shooting a three-under par 69.

Saint Joseph's junior Sean Seese posted an opening round 75 and teammates Garrett Basalyaga and Colin Corrigan both shot 76. Ryan Barnett rounded out the five-man squad with a 77.

The final round of the Georgetown Hoya Invitational begins Monday morning.
