Hawk Golfers Tied for Ninth at Georgetown Hoya Invitational

BEALLSVILLE, Md. - The Saint Joseph's golf team is tied for ninth place at 309 with host Georgetown after the opening round of the 25th Annual Hoya Invitational at The Members Club at Four Streams. The tournament, originally scheduled for 54 holes, will commence Tuesday morning at 9:30 a.m. in a 36-hole format due to today's inclement weather. Saint Joseph's senior Zach Smith is tied for 12th place after posting a three-over-par 74. Classmate Bill Macknis shot 76, and junior Jim Ridgway is a shot behind Macknis at 77. Sophomores Kyle Sargis and Andrew Jaskel rounded out the five-man squad with scores of 82 and 88, respectively. Washington State holds the team lead at 68, while Hank Frame holds the individual lead at 68.
