Men's Golf Claims Big 5 Title; Finishes Fifth at Penn Classic

PHILADELPHIA - The Saint Joseph's men's golf team claimed the Big 5 title and finished fifth overall at the Big 5/Penn Classic held at the Philadelphia Cricket Club (par 71).

The Hawks posted a two-round score of 304-311/615 to claim the Big 5 title by two strokes over Penn (617). Overall, Saint Joseph's placed fifth in the Penn Classic portion of the tournament, as Princeton took the team title with a two round score of 589.

Individually, junior Sean Seese won medalist honors for the Big 5 portion of the tournament, and finished fourth overall with a score of 70-78/148. Princeton's Jason Gerken won the Penn Classic medalist honor with a score of 71-71/142.

Junior Billy Stewart posted a 78-73/151 to finish in a tie for 11th overall, while Ryan Barnett tied for 26th with a score of 77-78/155. Colin Corrigan shot a 79-82/161 and Tom flatley rounded out the five-man squad with a score of 84-83/167.

Saint Joseph's will complete the fall portion of its schedule at the Georgetown Invitational next weekend.
