Stewart Helps Hawks Jump Eight Spaces to Fourth at James Madison

HARRISONBURG, VA - The Saint Joseph's University men's golf team posted a record-setting 14-under-par 274 in today's final round of the James Madison Invitational to finish fourth overall in the field of 15.

The Hawks, who started the day in 12th place, shot a program-best 274 for a three round total of 292-290-274/856. SJU, who had the best round of the field today, came in fourth behind tournament winner Towson (839), second place Rutgers (844) and third place Princeton (848).

Individually, junior Billy Stewart placed second overall, with a final-round five-under-par 67. Stewart shot a 68-70-67/205 for the tournament, only five shots behind the medalist, Jeff Castle of Rutgers (200).

Junior Sean Seese finished in a ninth with a score of 72-74- 65/211, while freshman Colin Corrigan tied for 10th with a three round total of posted a score of 73-72-67/212. Freshman Garrett Basalyaga shot a 75 in today's final round for a score of 81-74-75/230 and Bob Cunningham rounded out the five-man team with a score of 79-76-90/245.

Saint Joseph's returns to action this Saturday at the Penn State Invitational.
