Seese Takes Top Honor As Hawk Linksters Finish Fifth At Navy

aNNAPOLIS, MD - Junior Sean Seese carded an even-par 142 to garner medalist honors and lead Saint Joseph's to a fifth place finish at the Navy Fall Invitational. As a team, SJU shot a 598 and finished 14 strokes behind Towson in the team competition. The event was contested at the par 71, 6611 yard, U.S. Naval Academy Golf Course.

Seese, who trailed the leaders by one shot after firing a one-over 72 on the first day of play, carded a one-under 70 on the second day to take medalist honors. He is the first Hawk to take top honors at a tournament since teammate Billy Stewart finished first at the 2003 Atlantic 10 Championships.

Stewart posted a two round score 75-73/148, finishing in a tie for 14th place. Collin Corrigan posted a score of 74-77/151, while Ryan McCarty shot an 80-77/157. Jim Robertson rounded out the five-man team with a total of 80-83/163.

The Hawks return to action September 25-26 at the Cornell Invitational.
