Golf Team in 16th place at Big 5 Classic

FLOURTOWN, Pa. - The Saint Joseph's golf team stands in 16th place after Saturday's opening round of the Big 5 Classic at the par-71 Wissahickon Course.

Individually, sophomore Kyle Sargis was the low man for the Hawks, posting a 78 to tie for 44th place. Senior Zach Smith is a shot behind at 79, while senior Bill Macknis and sophomore Jimmy Bea each carded rounds of 81. Andrew Jaskel rounded out the five-man squad with a round of 83, while Patrick Devlin and Tyler Mefford shot 83 and 89, respectively, as individual golfers.

Richmond holds the team lead at 293, and Campbell's Zak Drescher carded a 67 today to hold the individual lead into tomorrow.

Sunday's final round begins at 8 a.m.
