Hawks in 16th Place After Opening Round of Xavier Invitational

LOVELAND, OH - The Saint Joseph's golf team stands in 16th place after the first day of the Xavier Invitational, held at the Oasis Golf Club (par-72) Monday. Following this morning's opening round, the Hawks stood in 18th place following a 14-over par, 301. Saint Joseph's regrouped for the afternoon's second round, firing a three-over-par 291 to help the squad move up to 16th place at 593. Louisville leads the 19-team field, posting a 19-under-par 557 today. Individually, seniors Billy Stewart and Sean Seese paced the Hawks. Stewart fired 73-73/146, while Seese posted 74-72/146 to tie for 40th. Junior Phil Arouca is tied for 47th after shooting 78-70/148, while sophomore Colin Corrigan finished at 77-76/153. Junior Ryan McCarty rounded out the five-man squad with a two-round total of 79-76/155. The final round of the Xavier Invitational will begin tomorrow at 8 a.m.
