Hawk Golfers Place Ninth at Atlantic 10 Championships

HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. - The Saint Joseph's golf team capped its 2008-09 season with a ninth-place finish at the 31st Annual Atlantic 10 Championship. The Hawks carded a three-round score of 308-322-309/939 at the par-71 course and has a score of 308-322/630 after the opening two rounds.

Individually, junior Bill Macknis paced the Hawks, finishing tied for 24th with a score of 77-78-77/232, while freshman Jimmy Bea tied for 27th at 78-81-76/234. Senior Steve Hudacek finished tied for 32nd with a score of 72-83-83/238, with junior Zach Smith coming in 42nd-place 82-83-76/241. Sophomore Josh Webb tied for 43rd with a score of 82-80-80/142.

Charlotte (872) won the team title for the fourth straight season, while the 49ers' Corey Nagy (212) earned medalist honors.
