Hawks Place 12th at Princeton Invitational

PRINCETON, N.J. - Improving two places in Sunday's final round, the Saint Joseph's golf team finished 12th in the 14-team field at this weekend's Princeton Invitational. The Hawks carded scores of 320-315/635 at the par-71, 6,390-yard Springdale Golf Club.

Individually, senior Steve Hudacek paced the Hawks, finishing tied for 17th with a score of 80-73/153. Junior Zach Smith finished a stroke behind at 154 (73-81) to finish tied for 20th. Sophomore Jim Ridgway shot 85-81/166, while junior Bill Macknis carded an 82-85/167. Freshman Jimmy Bea did not finish as a member of the Saint Joseph's squad, but did post an 80 in Sunday's round.

Rutgers won the team title with a score of 596, while the Scarlet Knights' James Arbes earned medalist honors with a score of 73-72/145.

Saint Joseph's returns to action this Saturday and Sunday at the Navy Spring Invitational.
