Corrigan's Second Place Helps Golf Team To Third at Princeton Invitational

PRINCETON, NJ - Saint Joseph's freshman golfer Collin Corrigan came within a stroke of the individual title at the Princeton Invitational, as he helped the Hawks to a third place team finish. Corrigan shot a two-over-par 72-71-72/215 at the Springdale Golf Club this past weekend, finishing a stroke behind Maryland's John Eades for medalist honors. Corrigan's final round 72 was the second best amongst the field of 90, as the rookie posted his best finish of the season. As a team, Saint Joseph's finished with a three-round total of 292-294-299/885 to claim third place. The Hawks, who were one of only two teams in the field of 17 to shoot under 300 in all three rounds, finished four strokes behind tournament winner George Washington. Outside Corrigan's top-two finish; junior Billy Stewart posted a 76-72-75/223 to finish in a tie for 19th. Classmate Sean Seese finished a stroke behind Stewart with a three-round score of 72-75-77/224, while freshman Ryan Barnett shot a 72-76-77/225. Sophomore Ryan McCarty rounded out the five-man squad with a score of 82-78-75/235. The Hawks return to action April 16 and 17 at the Akron Invitational.
