Golf Team Places 19th at Drew Upton Towson Classic

WESTOVER, MD - The Saint Joseph's University golf team placed 19th at the Drew Upton Towson Golf Classic, which was held at the Great Hope Golf Club (par 72) this past weekend. The Hawks opened the two-round tournament with a four-man score of 329 to earn a tie for 18th. In yesterday's final round, Saint Joseph's posted a 335 to finish with a two-round score of 664. Loyola College won the team title with a 21-over-par 595. Individually for the Hawks, freshman Colin Corrigan led SJU with a two-round score of 83-82-165. Sophomore Chris Reedman shot an 86-80/166, while freshman Ryan Barnett posted an 82-85/167. Freshman Garret Basalyga rounded out the four-man squad with a score of 84-88/172. Junior Billy Stewart was forced to withdraw from the tournament after posting an opening-round 80. Loyola's T.J. Shuart won the medalist honors with an even-par 144, holding off the field of 98 challengers. The Hawks will return to action April 8-9 at the Princeton Invitational in Princeton, New Jersey.
