Hawk Golfers Tie for Ninth at George Washington Invitational

WASHINGTON, DC - The Saint Joseph's golf team finished in a four-way tie for ninth place in the field of 24 teams at this weekend's George Washington Invitational. The Hawks posted a two-round score of 303-312/615 to finish in a tie for ninth with Skidmore and host George Washington's "A" and "B" squads. Penn won the team title with a score of 286-299/585. Individually, senior golfer Phil Arouca and sophomore Steve Hudacek tied for 12th place. Arouca posted a two-round score of 76-71/147, while Hudacek shot 69-78/147. Hawks' junior Colin Corrigan carded a 77-79/156, while classmate Garrett Basalyga posted a two-round score of 82-84/166. Senior Ryan McCarty rounded out the five-man team with a score of 81-92/173. Seton Hall's Kyle Morris earned medalist honors after carding a two-round score of 68-73/141. Saint Joseph's returns to action next Saturday and Sunday, March 31 and April 1 at the Lacrosse Homes Collegiate Invitational.
