Hawks Place Fifth at Rain Shortened William and Mary Invitational

WILLIAMSBURG, VA - Due to poor weather, The Saint Joseph's golf team finished in fifth place at the William and Mary Invitational as Tuesday's final round was cancelled.

The Hawks posted an opening-round 299 (+15) at the Kingsmill Resort. Saint Joseph's trailed Liberty (292), Maryland (293), Villanova (295) and Richmond (298) after the first round.

Individually, junior Ryan McCarty is tied for ninth after posting a one-over-par 72. Senior Billy Stewart is tied for 15th, one stroke behind McCarty after shooting a 73. Senior Sean Seese and sophomore Colin Corrigan each posted opening-round scores of 77, while junior Phil Arouca rounded out the five-man squad with an 85.

The Hawks return to action Friday and Saturday at the George Washington Invitational.
