Golf Team In Fifth After Opening Round Of William And Mary Invitational

WILLIAMSBURG, VA - The Saint Joseph's University men's golf team is in fifth place after the Sunday's opening round of the William and Mary Invitational at the par-72 Golden Horseshoe Golf Club. The Hawks posted a four-man score of 303 and trail tournament-leader Richmond by 15 strokes heading into tomorrow's final round. Individually, junior Billy Stewart is tied for fifth after posting an opening-round one-over-par 73. Stewart trails the lead-group of Erich Schoen of Navy, Matt Schall of Maryland and Steven Sherck of Richmond by two strokes. Freshman Collin Corrigan is tied for 10th with four other golfers after posting a two-over-par 74. Sophomore Chris Reedman posted a 77 in today's round, while junior Sean Seese shot 79. Freshman Ryan Barnett rounded out the five-man squad with an 83. Saint Joseph's will try to make up the 15-stroke deficit tomorrow morning in the final round of the William and Mary Invitational.
