PHILADELPHIA (01/19/03) - Sophomore Delonte West, the hottest Saint Joseph's men's basketball player over the last four games, was selected as the Atlantic 10 Conference's co-Player of the Week for the week endng January 18. West shared the honor with Xavier's David West. The Hawks' West tallied 26 points, on 10-of-17 shooting from the field (3-7 3PT), while grabbing six rebounds, dishing seven assists and not turning the ball over once. It was the first A-10 Player of the Week honor for the SJU two guard of his career. He garnered one A-10 Rookie of the Week honor last year. West entered the Hawks' game with Rhode Island tied with St. Bonaventure's Marques Green for the A-10 scoring lead in conference games only. Both players were averaging 19.8 points per game.
