PHILADELPHIA - Saint Joseph's guard Carl Jones was named the Philadelphia Big 5 Player of the Week for February 4 after helping the Hawks to two wins last week. It is the second time this season that he has earned a Big 5 honor.

Jones averaged 17.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists while shooting 42 percent from both the field (10-for-24) and three-point range (5-for-12) and 83 percent from the foul line.

The 5-11 senior scored a team-high 19 points in the Hawks' 66-62 win at Fordham and sealed the victory by going 7-for-8 from the foul line in the final minute. His free throws with 33 seconds to go gave the Hawks the lead for good.

Against Temple, Jones had eight points the final five minutes, including back-to-back three-pointers, as the Hawks rallied from a nine-point deficit to edge their city rival, 70-69. He finished the game with 16 points, five rebounds and four assists.

Jones currently tops Saint Joseph's in scoring with 15.1 points per game.

The Hawks (13-7; 4-3 A-10) have won three games in a row and travel to Dayton on Wednesday for a 7 p.m. contest.
