Baseball Announces Winter Clinics
Oct. 28, 2009
PHILADELPHIA - The Saint Joseph's baseball coaching staff has announced the dates for its 2009-10 winter baseball clinics. The various sessions, to be held on campus, are designed for players in kindergarten all the way through high school. This season, the staff will host comprehensive, instruction-intensive clinics in hitting, pitching, catching, and infield. They will also offer a specialized Youth Skills Clinic for players in kindergarten through third grade. The new "Practice Like a Hawk" clinic provides an opportunity for aspiring young baseball players to spend a day in the shoes of a Hawk baseball player. Campers will experience a practice exactly like the Saint Joseph's baseball team does on a daily basis. Hitting, pitching, and defense will be the main focus while other topics, including stretching, arm care, and conditioning, will also be covered. All clinics will be capped at 24 participants, except for the high school pitching clinics, which will be capped at 16, so early registration is recommended. Each individual session costs $70, but campers taking part in two sessions in a single day can register at a discounted rate of $130 for both.
