DREXEL HILL, Pa. - Saint Joseph's held its 2010 Athletics Commencement ceremony at the Drexelbrook Catering and Banquet Facility on Tuesday night, May 18. The event was staged to honor nine student-athletes that were unable to attend the University's commencement exercises on May 15 due to varsity athletic competition.

Seniors Brooke Darreff (softball), Steve Philbrook (men's track), and Doug DiSandro, Quentin Farr, Brian Hartsell, Dewey Oriente, Adam Rivera, Drew Smith, and David Valesente (baseball) received their diplomas at the ceremony. Darreff and Valesente also received their Class of 1950 Awards as the outstanding male and female senior athletes.

The baseball team also gave out its team awards for the season. The award winners were Valesente (Most Outstanding Performer), Oriente (Scholar Athlete), Rivera (Dorie Leahy Award), DiSandro (Raymond Vasquez Award), Randy Mower (Raymond Vasquez Award), and Eddie Palmer (Academic Award).
