NORRISTOWN, PA - Saint Joseph's (9-24) was unable to make an early lead hold up and Lafayette (15-19) scored in five of the final seven innings to notch a 9-2 victory at Latshaw-McCarthy Field.

SJU jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead, scoring single runs in each of the first two frames. Senior Nick Baldasari doubled home sophomore Mike Gentile with the first run in the first. Senior Rob Pimpnella then tripled in the second and scored on a ground ball.

LC went on top for good scoring three times in the top of the third. They added a run in the fourth, two in the sixth, one in the seventh and twom more in the ninth to go on to victory.

On a pitch count, LC's Kevin Reese (2-1) picked up the win allowing two runs on two hits and striking out two in four innings of work. SOphomore Joel Grimshaw (0-3) suffered the setback giving up four runs and six hits in five innings. Freshman Don Werner threw three innings in reliefe before Brian Anecharico closed it out.

SJU managed just four hits. James Conrad (3-3, 2 R, 2 RBI) and Rob Fioretti (3-4, 2 R) each had three hits for the Leopards.

The Hawks travel to Delaware on Thursday afternoon.
