CHICAGO – The Saint Joseph's softball team fell to Loyola Chicago, 2-1, in nine innings on Saturday afternoon at Loyola Softball Park.

Emily Siler and Loyola Chicago's Peyton Pepkowski kept opposing batters off guard over the opening six innings as the two engaged in a scoreless pitcher's duel.
• The Hawks broke through for the game's first run in the top of the seventh as 
Payton Baxter singled home 
Nicole Bondoc to make it 1-0.
• The Ramblers rallied to tie it in the bottom of the seventh on a RBI double by Sydney Barnett with two outs.
• After a scoreless eighth, Loyola Chicago scored the game-winning run in the bottom of the ninth as Haley Wallace beat a throw home on a fielder's choice.

• Siler moved to 6-6 on the season as she allowed one earned run on five hits, while striking out seven over 8.1 innings.
• Baxter was 1-for-3 with a RBI.
• 
Hailey Malito went 1-for-3.
• 
Madison Fife and 
Meghan Sinkus each went 1-for-4.
