PHILADELPHIA - Allen Pendleton has been named associate athletic director for facilities and operations at Saint Joseph's University, it was announced by director of athletics Don DiJulia. Deirdre Mattocks and Melanie Monroe were also named to posts in the athletic department.

Pendleton was most recently the associate director of structured sport at the University of Pennsylvania, a position he held for the past five years. He owns more than 25 years experience in facility management, and intramural and sport club programming. Pendleton previously held posts at Temple University and Tulane University, and also worked at Saint Joseph's in the late 1980's as equipment manager and assistant track and field coach. A native of Ardmore, PA, Pendleton earned both his bachelor's and master's degrees from Temple.

Mattocks was named to the new compliance assistant position. A 2007 graduate of Temple, she served as the interim administrative assistant in SJU's athletic department for the past year. A former gymnast at Temple, she is from Drexel Hill, PA.

Monroe was named assistant athletic trainer. Most recently, she was the head athletic trainer at Westfield State College, and also worked at the University of Massachusetts and Franklin and Marshall College. A 1998 graduate of Penn State, she received her master's degree from the University of North Carolina.
