• After opening the season with back-to-back, season-opening losses against Saint Peters, 2-1, and Fairfield, 1-0 in overtime, the Hawks picked up their first win of 2019 with a 1-0 road victory over LIU on Saturday evening; junior midfielder Ritchie Barry scored in the third minute and SJU played a gritty defensive match to seal the win.

• Barry has now played into both of SJU's goals in the early going, having also dished out a helper on senior forward Leon Maric's goal in the season opener.
• Saint Joseph's is coming off of an 8-7-3 season (2-3-3 A-10) and returns 17 letterwinners, including nine starters from a season ago in 2019 Atlantic 10 Preseason All-Conference picks Barry and Maric, midfielders Alvin Dahn, Garrett Lyons, and Aidan Watkins, defenders Mike Fornaro, David Grana, and Daniel Morales, and goalkeeper Joseph Boehm. Fornaro and Watkins will captain the Hawks this fall.

• The Seawolves are still looking for their first win of the season after dropping back-to-back, season-opening matches to St Francis Brooklyn, 1-0, and Penn State, 4-1, and drawing with Fairfield, 2-2, on Saturday.
• Jarred Dass has scored twice while Danny Jara scored the go-ahead goal against Fairfield.
• Stony Brook was predicted to finish second in the 2019 America East Preseason Poll; Dass was a First Team selection a year ago while Gustavo Fernandes was a Second Team pick on defense.
• The Seawolves went 9-6-3 overall last year and 5-1-1 in conference play and bowed out in the AE Tournament semifinals.
• The all-time series sits at 2-0-0 in favor of the Seawolves; the Hawks dropped a 2-0 decision at the Kentucky Invitational back in 2012 and fell 2-1 last fall, where Stony Brook broke a 1-1 score in the 87th minute. Then-junior forward Leon Maric scored early for the Hawks (8') on a feed from then-sophomore midfielder Alvin Dahn while then-freshman goalkeeper Joseph Boehm made seven saves.

• The Red Foxes opened their season with a 2-1 loss down in Jacksonville but bounced back with a 2-1 home win over Gonzaga on September 6. Marist will head to Penn on Monday, September 9 for a 7:00 p.m. start before hosting the Hawks on Saturday.
• Marcus Ginman, Christian Curti, and Samad Bounthong have scored one goal apiece for the Red Foxes.

• The Red Foxes went 8-5-5 overall last year and 6-2-2 in conference play and eventually fell to Quinnipiac on PKs in the MAAC semifinals.
• The all-time series is tied 1-1; the Hawks downed the Red Foxes, 5-1, on the road in 2014 but dropped a 3-2 OT match-up at home the following season.
