MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - The Saint Joseph's golf team shot 298-291/589 and is in eighth place after the first day of the Bash at the Beach.

Playing at the par-71 Surf Golf and Beach Club (6,741 yards), Wills Montgomery is tied for 12th after shooting 74-67/141, while Michael O'Brien is tied for 26th with a score of 75-74/146. J.T. Spina shot 73-74/147 and is tied for 31st, with Ross Pilliod tied for 71st at 76-80/156. Richard Riva rounded out the five-man squad with a score of 79-79/158 and is tied for 156th.

Jacksonville State holds a seven-shot lead at 554, with George Washington's Logan Lowe atop the individual leaderboard at 135.

The final round begins on Tuesday morning.
