PHILADELPHIA – In the midst of a two-match winning streak, the Saint Joseph's men's soccer squad (2-1-0) is set to face Stony Brook (1-2-0) in a mid-week tilt this Wednesday, September 5. Kickoff at LaValle Stadium in Stony Brook, N.Y. is set for 7:00 p.m.

Captained by senior defender Eddie McCusker, redshirt junior midfielder Lou Vilotti, and redshirt junior defender Mike Fornaro, Saint Joseph’s returns 17 Hawks, including eight starters from a season ago, and will sport a roster of six seniors, seven juniors, six sophomores, and 12 first-year players this fall. After opening the season with a 2-0 road loss at William and Mary, the Hawks have exploded for seven goals over the last two contests in a 3-1 road win over Saint Peter's and a 4-2 home win over Quinnipiac this past Saturday. Junior forward Leon Maric (24'), freshman midfielder Garrett Lyons, and freshman forward Frantz Pierrot scored against the Peacocks while sophomore midfielder Alvin Dahn had a game against the Bobcats, going for two goals and the match-winning assist; senior midfielder Derek MacKinnon and sophomore midfielder Alan Kahlenbeck added to the scoring. Freshman goalkeeper Joseph Boehm (2-1-0) owns nine saves vs. five saves allowed over three full matches.

Stony Brook is 1-2-0 on the season after a 3-2, season-opening road loss at George Washington, a 2-0 home win over Saint Francis Brooklyn, and a 1-0 home loss to Lafayette this past Saturday. Jarred Dass has put away two goals while Gustavo Fernandes and Gabriel Fernandes have scored once each. Martieon Watson has dished out three helpers on Stony Brook's four goals while Christian Miesch (1-2-0) sports a 1.33 goals against average and .733 save percentage on 11 saves vs. four goals allowed in all 270:00.

The Seawolves, selected to finish sixth in the America East Conference (in a field of eight teams), went 7-6-5 overall (1-3-3 AE) and reached the America East quarterfinals last fall.

Wednesday's match will mark just the second all-time meeting between Saint Joseph’s and Stony Brook; the Hawks and Seawolves first met on September 9, 2012 in a neutral-site match at the Kentucky Invitational in Lexington, Ky. Stony Brook took the win, 2-0.
