NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Capping a stellar rookie campaign, Saint Joseph's freshman Amanda Nava has been named to the Atlantic 10 All-Conference First Team, conference officials announced on Tuesday.

Making an immediate impact as a newcomer, Nava led the Hawks in singles wins with a 20-9 record and added her name to the program's record book with the fifth-most victories in a single season. Capturing the first flight singles title at the SJU Invitational and going undefeated at No. 1 singles at the NJIT Invitational during the fall, Nava carried her strong play over into dual matches in the spring as she went 11-6 at the top flight, including an 8-2 mark against A-10 foes.

In doubles play, Nava went 14-12 overall with an 11-6 mark in dual matches at No. 1 doubles. The 10th Hawk to earn A-10 All-Conference honors, Nava is the first freshman in program history to be earn conference postseason honors.
