Bringing 15 years of coaching experience to the Saint Joseph's sidelines is first-year assistant coach Timmy Lucas. He will work primarily with the Hawks' goalkeepers in 2011.
Serving as an assistant girls coach at Bishop O'Connell High School, Lucas helped the team earn four Washington Catholic Athletic Conference Tournament titles and eight regular season titles. The Knights finished ranked among the top 25 teams in the nation seven times and were the top-ranked team in 2004.
From 2007-10, Lucas served as head coach of goalkeepers for the Northern District ODP Girls squad, while serving as an assistant coach with the NOVA Royals PDL and U-20 Men club teams. He has previously worked as a goalkeeper coach with DC Univeted Super Y-League (2002-03) and the VYSA State ODP teams (2001-02), and served as head coach of the Northern District Boys ODP teams from 1999-01. Lucas began his coaching career as an assistant coach at his alma mater, Marymount University.
Additionally, Lucas has coached three NSCAA High School All-Americans and over 50 student-athletes who have gone on to play collegiately.
Lucas, who earned both his bachelor and masters' degrees from Marymount, also serves as director of player development and goalkeeping with the New Jersey Rush club teams and is an EPYSA coaching education instructor. He currently resides in Cherry Hill, N.J., with his wife, Jen and daughter, Emma.
