PHILADELPHIA - Saint Louis used two second-half goals to earn a 3-2 win over Saint Joseph's in Atlantic 10 women's soccer action at Finnesey Field. SJU falls to 2-10 (0-4 A-10), while the Billikens improve 6-3-1 (3-0-1 A-10).
The Hawks got on the board early as Kelly Galen scored on the Hawks' first shot of the game at 5:52. She shot from near the top of the box and put the ball into the upper right corner, for her first goal of the season.
Saint Louis countered shortly after when Lauren Bozesky intercepted a goal kick by Megan Bastianelli and chipped it in at 14:34.
The teams remained tied through halftime, but Saint Louis' Ashley Hayes intercepted a pass in front of the goal and scored from close range at 57:51. The Billikens added what became the gamewinner at 69:09 when Kelly Waeckerle sent a centering pass to Alyssa Mautz, who put it into the upper right corner.
SLU outshot the Hawks, 18-3, but Bastianelli made five saves for the home team.
Saint Joseph's returns to action on Friday with a visit to La Salle.
