FLOURTOWN, PA - The Saint Joseph's men's golf team finished 11th in the filed of 15 at the Big 5 Invitational Sunday afternoon at the Philadelphia Cricket Club.
As a team, the Hawks posted a two-round score of 308-310/618 at the par-71 course. Temple edged Seton Hall by one stroke, 587 to 588, to claim the team title.
Individually for Saint Joseph's, junior Bill Macknis paced the Hawks, tying for 34th with a two-round score of 79-74/153. Senior Steve Hudacek posted a score of 75-79/154, while sophomore Josh Webb and freshman Jimmy Bea posted identical scores of 77-79/156. Junior Zach Smith rounded out the five-man team with a score of 82-78/160.
Villanova's Brendan Kelly (142) won the individual medalist honors with a par on the first hole of the playoff over Binghamton's Jake Katz.
Saint Joseph's returns to action at the Georgetown Intercollegiate on October 20-21.
