PHILADELPHIA - The Saint Joseph's women's soccer team had its two-game win streak snapped Friday evening as the Hawks fell to Penn, 1-0, in the opening day of play at the Penn Invitational.

The Quakers (2-1-0) tallied the game's lone goal at 24:53 as Kathryn Barth headed in a crossing pass from teammate Kerry Scalora.

The Hawks' best scoring opportunities came in the 55th and 56th minutes, but shots by freshman Mo Hawkins and junior Maggie Lupinski were snared by Penn goalkeeper Caroline Williams.

Penn's defense controlled the game from there, limiting SJU to just one shot over the final 30 minutes to earn the win.

In net, Saint Joseph's sophomore Christine Neal made a game-high six saves. The loss drops the Hawks record to 2-3-0 on the year.

The Hawks will face Lehigh at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday in the consolation game of the Penn Invitational.
