HARRISONBURG, VA (09/21/02) - Led by the play of junior Brian McDermott and freshman Sean Seese, who both shot even-par for the 54 hole event, the Saint Joseph's University men's golf team place seventh overall in the 18 team field at the James Madison University Invitational held at the Lakeview Golf Course. SJU's five man contingent combined to shoot 864 (+12). McDermott and Seese led the way for the Crimson and Gray. The team's top returning veteran, McDermott sizzled shooting a pair of 68s, to go with a second round 77,finishing at 213 for the tournament. Seese (69, 73, 71 - 213) played consistently to reach par for the weekend. The tandem tied for 13th place overall. Rounding out the five man team for St. Joe's were freshman Billy Stewart (73, 72, 78 - 223, T-61st), junior Tom Spano (79, 79, 69 - 227, T-76th), along with senior Mike Bosica (73, 73, 78 - 224, T-66th). SJU returns to the links October 5 and 6 at the Temple Invitational in Moosic, Pa.
