PHILADELPHIA (10/28/02) - Junior Brian McDermott was the only Hawk to finish in the top 20, as the Saint Joseph's golf team concluded its fall season with a seventh place finish at the Georgetown Invitational played at the Lansdowne Resort in Leesburg, Va. Playing consistently, SJU shot a 299 on day one and a 294 on day two to finish with a 593 for the event. McDermott tied for 17th place overall after carding a 147 in his two rounds of play (72, 75). Besides McDermott, freshman Billy Stewart (77, 72) and senior Mike Bosica (73, 76) tied for 25th place in the individual competition after postining identical scores of 149. Junior Bill Devlin (77, 75 - 152) tied for 38th and freshman Sean Seese (84, 72 - 156) placed 53rd for the Crimson and Gray. Competing individually, junior Tom Spano tied for 49th overall with a two round score of 155. Penn State bested the 12 team field by carding a two-day total of 560. The Hawks' fall season is now complete, SJU will return to the links in the spring.
