WASHINGTON, DC - The Saint Joseph's women's soccer team dropped an Atlantic 10 match at George Washington, 3-1, Sunday afternoon. Hawks' sophomore goalkeeper Megan Bastianelli tied the single-season mark for saves - 137 - with five on the day.

The Colonials (8-8-0, 3-6-0 A-10) opened the scoring in the 12th minute at Kierra Colker collected a bouncing ball in the Saint Joseph's box and booted it to the to the right half of the box to put her team up 1-0.

Saint Joseph's (3-15-0, 1-9-0 Atlantic 10) tied the game less than eight minutes later. Hawk senior Kelly Galen's lofted pass was headed by freshman Carly Salter off the crossbar, taking a friendly bounce into the goal at 18:48.

George Washington scored the game's third goal nearly five minutes later on another loose ball in SJU's box. This time, Meg Pyle gather the ball and booted it to the top right of the box at 23:47 to put the Colonials up 2-1.

Leading 2-1 after 45 minutes, George Washington added an insurance goal 3:48 into the second half off the foot of Nicole Trickett to preserve the win, 3-1.

For the game, George Washington outshot the Hawks 19-4 as Bastianelli made a game-high five saves.

Saint Joseph's caps its season next Saturday, November 3, at home versus Temple at 7 p.m.
