PHILADELPHIA - The Saint Joseph's golf team is poised for a breakout performance this weekend, April 24-26, at the 31st Annual Atlantic 10 Championship at the Mission Inn Resort in Howey-In-The-Hills, Florida.

The A-10 Championship tees off this Friday, April 24, at 8 a.m. with Saint Joseph's looking to improve on its eighth-place finish from a season ago. Hawks' head coach Bob Lynch will bring an experienced and talented group of golfers to this year's conference tournament, looking to match or best the program's top finish of second place in 2003.

With appearances in past two A-10 Championships, senior Steve Hudacek adds leadership to the Hawks squad as he enters his final collegiate tournament. Junior Zach Smith finished tied for 32nd at last year's conference tournament, while classmate Bill Macknis placed 48th. An All-Conference honoree a season ago after tying for 10th at the A-10 Championship, sophomore Josh Webb looks to earn his second straight conference accolade, while sophomore Jim Ridgway and freshman Jimmy Bea will round out the SJU squad.

Joining Saint Joseph's in the quest for the conference title are reigning A-10 champs Charlotte, Dayton, Duquesne, Fordham, George Washington, La Salle, Rhode Island, Richmond, St. Bonaventure, Temple and Xavier.
