PHILADELPHIA - Saint Joseph's junior forward Jen Pfeiffer and freshman forward Mo Hawkins earned weekly Atlantic 10 women's soccer honors, conference officials announced on Monday. Pfeiffer earned her Co-Player of the Week accolades, while Hawkins was a Co-Rookie of the Week selection.
Helping the Hawks to a 2-0-0 mark on the week, Pfeiffer tallied five of her team's seven goals. Against Drexel, she scored a hat trick, including the game-winning goal, in Saint Joseph's 4-1 win. Pfeiffer followed that with a two-goal performance against NJIT on Sunday as the Hawks topped the highlanders, 3-0. Her five goals helped move her into a tie for fourth place all-time in program history with 19 career goals.
An A-10 Preseason All-Rookie Team honoree, Hawkins has made an immediate impact on the team's offense. Versus Drexel, the SJU rookie tallied a pair of assists and scored her second goal of the year in the win. Adding to that, Hawkins assisted on the game-winning goal in Saint Joseph's victory over the Highlanders. On the year, Hawkins leads the team in assists (three), is second in goals (two) and second in points (seven).
Pfeiffer shares the weekly Player of the Week honor with Duquesne goalkeeper Gabby Morrin, while Hawkins and George Washington defender Melanie Keer split Co-Rookie of the Week accolades.
Saint Joseph's (2-2-0) returns to action at Penn this Friday evening at 6 p.m.
