PHILADELPHIA – The Saint Joseph’s women’s lacrosse team (1-0) will host Temple (2-1) this Wednesday, February 22. Opening draw is slated for 3:00 p.m. on Sweeney Field.

Live streaming ($) of all eight remaining regular-season home games will be available via a subscription to the Atlantic 10 Digital Network. To sign up, please click here. Live stats will also be provided via SJUHawks.com.

Wednesday's game will mark the 20th all-time meeting between Saint Joseph's and Temple. The Owls own a 17-2 series advantage and have won the last seven match-ups. Saint Joseph's last win came in the form of a 15-6 victory at home in 2009; SJU's other win was also at home, in 2007. The Hawks and Owls have played each other every year since 1999. Nora McCallion tallied a hat trick against the Owls last spring.

Saint Joseph's enters Saturday's game coming off of a 15-7 win over American in Saturday's season opener. Atlantic 10 Player of the Week McCallion recorded a career-high eight points on a game-high five goals and game-high three assists, sophomore midfielder Rebecca Lane added a hat trick and two helpers, and graduate student goalkeeper Liz O'Sullivan made 10 saves and kept the Eagles scoreless in the second half in her SJU debut. Freshman midfielder Julia Pash scored twice in her collegiate debut.

Temple is 2-1 after opening the season with back-to-back wins over Rutgers and Monmouth and, most recently, dropping a 19-3 match-up at then-#13 Princeton on Saturday. Amber Lambeth leads the Owls with eight goals, while Brenda McDermott has totaled 10 assists through three games. Kelsea Hershey (1-1) and Maryn Lowell (1-0) have split time in net, with Hershey making all three starts.

Under the direction of third-year head coach Alex Kahoe, Saint Joseph’s returns 19 Hawks, including nine starters, from a squad that won nine games and reached the Atlantic 10 Championship semifinals last spring and welcomes 13 newcomers for the 2017 campaign.
