NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Saint Joseph's junior Chelsea Woods has been selected Atlantic 10 Women's Basketball Sixth Woman of the Year and named to the A-10 All-Conference Second Team, while classmate Adashia Franklyn earned A-10 All-Conference Third Team honors, conference officials announced on Tuesday.

One of the more versatile players in the A-10, Woods currently leads the Hawks in scoring (13.7 ppg), assists (65) and steals (36), and ranks second on the team in rebounding (6.8 rpg). Appearing in 26 games, the Preseason A-10 All-Conference Third Team honoree has been an intricate part in helping SJU finish third in the A-10 standings as she led all reserves and ranked 15th in conference-only scoring at 13.1 points per game. Averaging a career-best 24.9 minutes per game, Woods enters this week's A-10 Championship fifth in the conference in free throw percentage (.849), 13th in field goal percentage (.442), 13th in steals (1.4 spg), 14th in scoring and 15th in rebounding. Currently 18th all-time in SJU history in career rebounds with 528, Woods is the second Hawk to earn A-10 Sixth Woman of the Year, joining 2010-11 recipient Ashley Prim '13.

Posting one of the biggest breakout seasons in the conference, Franklyn has set new career-highs for every major category this year. Leading the Hawks in rebounding (8.1 rpg) and blocked shots (39) and ranking second in scoring (12.9 ppg), she has surpassed her previous highs of 4.3 rebounds per game, 32 blocked shots and 4.3 points per game. Ranking third in the A-10 in field goal percentage (.487), seventh in rebounding and eighth in blocked shots, Franklyn has also set new career marks for assists (58) and steals (18) this season.

Additionally, Franklyn has etched her name into the Hawks' record book four times this season as she currently ranks sixth all-time in blocked shots (93) and 23rd in rebounds (471), while her 235 rebounds this year are the 18th most in a single-season. And on December 31, Franklyn set a new Saint Joseph's and Big 5 single-game record for rebounds, grabbing 25 versus the Spiders.

Woods and Franklyn are the first Hawk teammates to garner A-10 All-Conference honors together since 2013-14.

Saint Joseph's (16-13) is back in action this Friday as the third seed Hawks take on sixth seed La Salle in the Quarterfinals of the A-10 Championship at 7 p.m. at the Richmond Coliseum.
