NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – After winning the 2019 Monmouth Kick-Off Invitational individual title and leading the Hawks to the team title on Saturday morning, Saint Joseph's graduate student Elaine Estes has been selected the Atlantic 10 Performer of the Week, the league office announced on Tuesday afternoon. Additionally, freshman Olivia Wojtowicz has been tabbed the league's Rookie of the Week. The honors mark the first conference accolades for both collegiate careers.

Estes led from the opening gun and crossed the finish line of the SR./JR. 4k race in a collegiate-best time of 14:20.94, over 31 seconds faster than the runner-up from Williams, Anna Passannante, to take first in the field of 48. Paced by a 5:46.4 mile average, the time was also 16 seconds faster than her 2018 time on the course and led the graduate student to her first collegiate win on the trails.

Wojtowicz led all Hawks in the SO./FR. 4k race with a sixth-place showing in a field of 43, clocking in with a 4k time of 15:38.70 in her collegiate debut.

Estes, Wojtowicz, and select Hawks will next race the George Mason Invitational this Friday, September 13 at 4:30 p.m. The 5k race will be held at the Oatlands Plantation in Leesburg, Va., the site of this year's Atlantic 10 Championship.
