ITHACA, N.Y. - Saint Joseph's sophomore Michael O'Brien is tied for 14th and the Hawk golf team is tied for 11th after Saturday's opening 36 holes of the Cornell Invitational.

Playing at the par-71 Robert Trent Jones Golf Course at Cornell University (6,904 yards), the Hawks posted a score of 301-294/595.

O'Brien paced SJU's five-man squad on Saturday shooting 74-69/143. Playing in his first collegiate even, rookie Wills Montgomery enters Sunday tied for 41st at 75-74/149, while junior Ross Pilliod is tied for 54th following a score of 75-76/151. Chuck Briggs posted a score of 77-75/152 and is tied for 62nd, while Reed Winkler finished the day at 78-76/154 and is tied for 66th.

Yale holds the team lead by a stroke at 571, while Delaware's Kieran Purcell leads all individual players at 137.

Saint Joseph's begins Sunday's final round at 9:30.
