STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – Freshman Caroline Duffy bested her 200m time and led off SJU's fastest 4x400m relay of the season to lead the Saint Joseph's women's track and field squad at the Penn 8 Team Select at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex on Saturday evening. The Hawks placed sixth overall in a field of eight teams with 16 points.
Duffy cruised through the 200m in a season-best time of 25.17 to win her heat and to place seventh overall in a field of 48 sprinters.
The freshman then led off the 4x400m relay that included senior Angelena Minniti, sophomore Kelly Liebl, and fifth-year senior Dannah Hayward; the group finished in fourth place in a field of 12 with a time of 3:56.09, marking SJU's fastest 4x400m relay time of the indoor season at this point.
Senior Emely Ramirez matched her season-best high jump mark at 1.60m, good for fourth overall.
Senior Sarah Regnault crossed the finish line of the 800m in 2:17.03, good for ninth out of 34.
COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. - The Hawks took home a pair of third-place finishes in both the 400m and 4x400m relay as the Saint Joseph's women's track and field squad competed at the Ursinus Collegeville Classic, held at Ursinus' Floy Lewis Bakes Center on Saturday afternoon. The Hawks placed seventh in a field of 19 teams with 27.5 points.
In the preliminaries of the 60m hurdles, freshman Emily Clayton crossed the finish line in a season-best time of 9.64 to qualify for the event's final, going on to clock in at 9.65 for a sixth-place overall finish.
Freshman Rose Barrett (19:55.78 PR) and sophomore Elaine Estes (20:17.49) finished fourth and sixth, respectively, in the 5000m, while sophomore Jessica Knobloch matched her season-best high jump mark of 1.45m to tie for fifth place.
