PHILADELPHIA – The Saint Joseph’s women’s lacrosse team will open the 2018 season at Georgetown (0-0) this Saturday, February 10. Opening draw is set for 3:00 p.m. at Cooper Field in Washington. D.C.

Under the direction of fourth-year head coach Alex Kahoe, Saint Joseph’s returns 24 Hawks from a squad that is coming off of a program-record, 11-win season, which was capped by a run at the 2017 Atlantic 10 Championship Tournament; returning All-Conference selections from last spring include senior defender Kristen Kelbon (First Team), junior midfielder Rebecca Lane (Second Team), and sophomore midfielder Julia Pash (Rookie Team). SJU has added 12 true freshmen and a sophomore transfer to the roster for the 2018 campaign.

In 25 seasons, the Saint Joseph's women's lacrosse program is 14-11 on opening day. The Hawks have opened the season on the road eight times and are 2-6 in that capacity.

The Hawks have faced the Hoyas three times in program history, between 1993-95. Georgetown owns a 3-0 series advantage.
