PHILADELPHIA – Freshman midfielder Ritchie Barry has been tabbed the Philadelphia Soccer Six Rookie of the Week, it was announced on Monday morning. The honor marks the first of Barry's career.

Barry scored his first two collegiate goals in SJU's 4-2 loss at La Salle last Wednesday. The freshman first got the Hawks on the scoreboard at the 26:11 mark; freshman defender Daniel Morales raced down a ball down the right flank and played it into the box, where Barry gained possession and beat La Salle's goalkeeper at the near post for his first collegiate goal.

Barry netted his second goal on a strike off of a free kick in the 74th minute.

The rookie played the full 90:00 at La Salle and the full 90:00 in SJU's 3-0 loss to VCU on Saturday. Barry took five shots on the week, landing four on goal.

Barry and the Hawks (3-9-4, 1-4-1 A-10) are set to host George Washington (8-6-2, 5-2-0 A-10) in the 2017 regular-season home finale this Saturday, October 28. Kickoff is slated for 7:00 p.m. on Sweeney Field.
