For the second consecutive week, the Saint Joseph's women's soccer team is ranked in the United Soccer Coaches East Region Poll as the Hawks made the jump to seventh place, organization officials announced on Tuesday.
Ranked 10th in last week's poll, Saint Joseph's opened last weekend with a hard-fought 1-0 loss to Princeton, who is ranked second in the regional poll again this week. The Hawks bounced back though for a 1-0 victory over Stony Brook on Sunday as junior Morgan Bower tallied the game-winning goal and Emily Cuccio made three saves for her first collegiate win.
Saint Joseph's (2-1-1) is one of four Atlantic 10 teams to earn regional recognition this week as it joins VCU (fourth), Saint Louis (sixth) and Massachusetts (seventh).
The Hawks are back in action on Thursday when they host James Madison at 7 p.m.
