JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Saint Joseph's men's track and field distance standout Zach Michon closed a tremendous junior campaign with a 29th-place finish in the 1500m at the 2019 NCAA East Regional Preliminary Rounds at the University of North Florida's Hodges Stadium on Thursday evening.

Racing in the first of four heats, and in 84-degree weather, against the top talent east of the Mississippi River, Michon crossed the finish line in a time of 3:54.98, which placed him 10th in the heat of 12. The performance ultimately ranked 29th among the overall field of 48; the top five finishers out of each of the four heats in addition to the next four performers with the fastest times will now advance to Saturday's Quarterfinals.

Michon, who was seeded 45th entering the meet, earned immeasurable experience with the race and will look to return to the meet for his senior season.
