NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Batting .353 and helping Saint Joseph's to three wins at the Michelle Smith Spring Break Invitational, sophomore Amanda Kulp has been named Atlantic 10 Softball Co-Player of the Week, conference officials announced on Monday.
Opening play versus Fairfield on Friday, Kulp went 2-for-5 with three runs batted in and a pair of runs scored in a 12-6 victory. Kulp followed with four more hits and three runs scored as the Hawks posted a 3-2 mark in their final in-season tournament.
For the season, Kulp currently leads Saint Joseph's in batting average (.383), runs scored (10), stolen bases (nine) and is tied for the team lead in hits (18).
Saint Joseph's (6-14) returns to action on Wednesday when it opens the home portion of its schedule with a doubleheader versus Rider starting at 3 p.m.
